Everywhere
Once upon a time
In a land all in her head
There was a little girl trapped
Wishing she were dead
She took a blade to her skin
Covered every inch of her hips
But not a single cry ever escaped her lips
She stopped praying
She thought maybe God had forgot
That he had left her in this hell
I wish I could tell her that he had not
The road she walked was lonely
He took her best friend
They said it must have been her time
She couldn't believe them
And though she was broken and beaten
Hurting on the inside
She finally got out of her head
She made it out alive
And God held her tightly
As she cried for everything she had lost
And he whispered to her
"You made it"
As she turned and she tossed
And though she still hurts
And the scars are all still there
Her eyes are now open to the life and the beauty
All around her
Everywhere
In a land all in her head
There was a little girl trapped
Wishing she were dead
She took a blade to her skin
Covered every inch of her hips
But not a single cry ever escaped her lips
She stopped praying
She thought maybe God had forgot
That he had left her in this hell
I wish I could tell her that he had not
The road she walked was lonely
He took her best friend
They said it must have been her time
She couldn't believe them
And though she was broken and beaten
Hurting on the inside
She finally got out of her head
She made it out alive
And God held her tightly
As she cried for everything she had lost
And he whispered to her
"You made it"
As she turned and she tossed
And though she still hurts
And the scars are all still there
Her eyes are now open to the life and the beauty
All around her
Everywhere
