Once upon a time In a land all in her head There was a little girl trapped Wishing she were dead She took a blade to her skin Covered every inch of her hips But not a single cry ever escaped her lips She stopped praying She thought maybe God had forgot That he had left her in this hell I wish I could tell her that he had not The road she walked was lonely He took her best friend They said it must have been her time She couldn't believe them And though she was broken and beaten Hurting on the inside She finally got out of her head She made it out alive And God held her tightly As she cried for everything she had lost And he whispered to her "You made it" As she turned and she tossed And though she still hurts And the scars are all still there Her eyes are now open to the life and the beauty All around her Everywhere
